What is mineral powder and what is the difference to conventional powder?
The special thing about mineral powder is its ingredients. At Angel Minerals there are usually two to four in number:
Calcium sulfate contributes to an even finish and absorbs grease
Silica has a matting and smoothing effect
Mica ensures a healthy, radiant complexion
Boron Nitride protects against the sun.
Only to come nor the color pigments. Artificial oils or nanoparticles don't get into the jar with us!
And synthetic fragrances, silicones, binders and cheap fillers also have to stay outside. We focus on minimalism, transparency and purified raw materials. It is important to us not to rob our planet.
What is the difference to conventional cream make-up?
In contrast to conventional cream make-up products, our cosmetics do without:
Conventional cream make-up often contains filtered Mineral oil. The effect: the skin feels "wonderfully" soft, but can no longer breathe properly. Because make-up containing mineral oil lies on the skin like a layer. Regeneration? none. Therefore: Not with us!
Talcum is also a mineral and in powder form a popular ingredient in the cosmetics industry. It may seem delicate at first, but over time clogs pores, is comedogenic, and is severely drying. It goes without saying that this ingredient is taboo for us!
The effect of these controversial tiny particles on the body has not yet been sufficiently researched. It is believed that they can penetrate the skin due to their small size. That is why we completely dispense with nano-sized raw materials. See our INCI primer for more information.
Mineral powder has another important advantage:
Are the mineral powders from ANGEL MINERALS organic?
Basically, it's unorganic -Certification for mineral make-up actually unnecessary. However, customers feel more secure with a certification label. This is not the only reason why we have also had our products certified as natural cosmetics (by ICADA). It gives our customers as well as ourselves the additional assurance that the raw materials are really pure, not in nano-size and contain no allergenic substances such as gluten. In addition, we can be sure that microplastics and child labor are excluded for our certifier. He wouldn't certify the products at all.
What about shelf life?
Minerals don't have an expiry date, even if they don't contain any preservatives. Mineral powders are inorganic substances that do not allow microbial growth. Nevertheless, it is important to clean the brushes regularly after use, which absorb the oils from the skin and the cream used. Although the powder is free of bacteria, the make-up brush can be a breeding ground for them. In the case of acne or an infectious disease, it is strongly recommended to use our disinfectant spray after each application and to wash the brushes completely with a silicone-free soap or shampoo from time to time.
