My Mission
The idea to create mineral powder make-up came from a very personal place: I couldn’t tolerate traditional cream-based foundations. Back then, I didn’t realize it was mainly due to ingredients like mineral oil and glycerin. But this sensitivity turned out to be a blessing in disguise - it led me to the world of natural cosmetics and sparked the desire to create my own truly natural products.
Another pivotal moment came when I discovered that many high-end, ultra-soft brushes were made using animal hair – often sourced from squirrel tails. I found that deeply disturbing, and from that day on, I committed to offering only 100% vegan products. Our powders were “naturally vegan” from the start, and I made sure that all other products - brushes, mascaras, lipsticks and more - would be too.
Launching a make-up brand was never part of my original plan. I simply wanted to create products I believed in - honest, clean, and suitable for the clients I had trained as color consultants. Over time, my brand ANGEL MINERALS by Karin Hunkel found its place in the market, and I couldn't be more grateful.
Today, my mission has grown to include sustainability at every level - especially in our packaging. Our certified mineral powders are naturally sustainable: they’re highly efficient, don’t expire, and require no preservatives. They’re also produced without child labor or animal testing. We avoid palm oil in all liquid products, and we don’t use aluminum in any form - not in products, packaging, or seals. Step by step, we’re replacing plastic containers with glass jars, refill systems, and paper-based tins.
This is my personal mission:
In everything I do - both professionally and personally - I strive to protect nature, the environment, and animals to the best of my ability.
I respect people, perspectives, and social values that support the well-being of our planet and all living beings.
I want to act from my heart and only offer products that I truly use - or would use - myself.
We give our very best - for people, for animals, and for the Earth.
With all my heart,
Karin Hunkel
